What car did this bucket seat come from. Close up shows perforated pattern on seating surfaces.

Looks like it could be a 71 or 72 Grand Prix seat. It'll fit perfectly on that 66 Convertible you're restoring!

Yeah, I did some more research with factory literature and pretty sure it’s 71 GP. Still not sure if the perforated material is vinyl or maybe even leather. Didn’t Pontiac offer leather as an option in’71? I need to sell these. Both seats appear to be power, but looks like somebody just cut the harnesses when removing them. Just been taking up space for years.

That is a 72 standard seat from a GP I believe, 71 had the same pattern but 71 wasn't perforated like 72. The leather option was only in 69-70, the only optional trim in 71-72 was the no charge cloth type trim option. As for electric there was never a power passenger seat in those years (driver side only) but there was the power seat back lock option tied into the power door lock option that would explain electrical wires in both seats. When the doors were opened the seat back would unlock so you didn't have to push the button on the seat back to flop the seat forward.

Took a closer look at the seat tracks and seat bottoms yesterday. Looks like you are correct on the purpose of the wiring harnesses I saw on each. It must be part of the seat back release. The seat tracks on these seats are clearly manual, not power. Thanks for the info.

Found some pics of 72 seats on line and recognized the perforations and the same upholstery pattern, so looks like my seats are 72 Grand Prix.

Terry, you're right about them being from a '72. Mine has the same material and the electric seat lock mechanism. If you are willing to part with tracks from the driver's seat, let me know. My power seat isn't moving and I would prefer the manual tracks.
