Impressed with Ames packing material
Got my first shipment from Ames the other day and was impressed that instead of inflated plastic bags (I'm looking at you OPGI) Ames used a shredded paper catalogue. Good on you Ames!

So do I, in fact this week. Must have had 30 feet of it in a large box that had another box inside that contained a rear body panel for a '68 GTO. That's okay with me, because if I order before 3 PM I have it the following morning. I don't order parts from OPGI, but I get the clear plastic bags of air from a few other suppliers. Back to topic, Ames always packs my parts well. |
Just FYI for Ames. Not bashing.
I ordered a set of their HO round port manifolds a couple of weeks ago. They showed up at the door with the box ripped half open. Both manifolds were packed in the same loose box with the wrong packing material for this heavy of a shipment. I was surprised to see them not broken when I opened the remains of the box. Just an FYI for Ames. These should be packed in separate boxes to avoid damage and returns as they are cast iron and easily broken by shipping Gorillas. |
