DCI MOTORSPORTS RAM AIR V HEADS!!!
 

I want to start off by saying thank you for everyone's patients. This project got put on hold for a couple of years because I purchased a new property for my business. The building needed allot more renovation than I had anticipated and hence the delay of the cylinder head program. I am back on track now, and I just received word from the foundry that I will have castings for my initial approval in about 2 weeks. After we do some close scrutinizing of the heads to make certain every thing is were it is supposed to be and the castings meet my approval. We will have these castings machined and do some flow testing along with mock ups on an engine block to verify the head is how I designed it. If I like the results I will be taking orders for the heads following these procedures. I will post the results as I get them here to keep everyone up to date as we progress. Below is a list of features that the DCI Ram Air V heads are designed with.


* Stock appearing on the outside correct in every detail right down to the A I R bosses
and number 44 in the center of the head
* Raised Intake runners 1.5" over stock with a direct line of sight to the valve
* High velocity intake ports with a cast in pushrod tube air foil
* Raised exhaust port exit (3/8") to straighten out the severe dog leg in the factory head
* Revised exhaust ports with a 1 7/8" round exit hole
* 3/4" deck surface for better head gasket retention
* Improved water jacket
* Capable of being used on factory blocks with a 4.180 bore size
* 10 degree valve inclination
* CNC machined 72cc and 85cc heart shaped combustion chambers for on the shelf
heads
* Heads will be cast without combustion chambers so custom combustion chambers
can be ordered to customers spec's
* Street versions will come with 2.200 intake valves and 1.68 exhaust valves
* Street versions can use stud mounted rockers with guide plates
* Race versions can be had with up to 2.450 intake valves for large bores
* Heads can be cast without water jackets for blown applications
* Heads will be available bare as well as complete ready to bolt on
* Bare castings will be as of right now $3150.00 bare and $4150.00 in street trim

A 2.45 inch intake valve on the race version!! What kind of flow right out of the box?
And what kind of flow for the street heads? Looks like a Great product. Thanks.

what intake will fit these? didn't know if you had one in the works, or if some of the others out there would fit.

Glad to see you are making progress on the new RA V's.

Looks like some really nice work went into the design process prior to pouring the first drop of aluminum. Good luck on your project and look forward to seeing lots of Pontiac guys buying your product.

Thanks guy's. As of right now I don't think that I am going to tool up for cast intakes. The tooling cost is astronomical and I think that everyone is probably going to want something a little different than the next guy. So for the time being we are going to build intakes per the customers application. I hate referring customers to a competitor, but I think Lynn's intake can be used on my heads with spacers if you want a cast intake. My intake port is about an inch higher than his hence the need for the spacers. The intake bolt pattern is the same as the factory, but again spacers will be needed. Another little snafu would be the water crossover. I don't think that anyone is going to want to cut it off of such a rare intake. Other wise it would bolt on to my heads.

As for flow, Our prototype model we built for the street version of the head flowed well enough to rival the Tiger heads. I don't want to post any numbers until I get the actual castings and flow them. I really want to avoid all the hype that seems to get out of control with the all different cylinder heads here. All I will say is that if it flows as good as the model we built, I will be very happy. As for the race version. I have not done any flow testing with that port yet. My goal is to see 500+ crm with a 2.400 valve which I think is very reasonable with data we have. I will definitely post flow results when I get them. I am considering contracting Calvin Hill to do some flow testing on his bench just to confirm the numbers I get. That way I have affirmative results without a biased opinion.

The plan is to try and get an engine together with a set of our street version heads and put it our race car. I cannot make any promises, but I hope to get that done for Norwalk this year. Since I bought the new shop, I have not been to Norwalk since. That's been almost 4 years now and I'm jonesing LOL. For those that don't know what I have. It's a 91 Trans Am 6.00 certified double frame rail chassis. The car is a little on the heavy side (2550 with driver), but it works really well.

Ya, I should have included that's for a chassis car LOL!!!

I hope the Pontiac community embraces my new V heads and my sales reflect that. I have a couple of other idea's on the drawing board that I know will be a big hit with our Loyal group of enthusiast. One of which I am having the tooling done for right now and hope to have completed soon as well. It's been awhile since I have been in the game, but I'm back and stronger than ever. I need major support from all of you though so that I can continue to bring new idea's and products to market. Unfortunately money does not grow on tree's LOL.
