Experimental turbine engine looks like.

A/C performance?

I think this car was on display at a POCI convention in the past. May be in GM Collection. Not Sure.

I think I have a pic somewhere.

it's the steam powered car. it is, or at least was, in jay leno's collection at one time.

not the stretched front overhang, they lengthened that long hood even more! Must feel like your driving it from the back seat

Take a look at this link... https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2010/0...e-powered-car/

Just google SE-101 and look for the Steam powered GP.

It was an interesting car and yes, it was at a POCI event a couple of times. The hood was up about 1 foot on props and it was hard to see the entire engine.

What fuel?

coal? Coal-fired steam sounds so soul-train

You know... I don't think I ever asked... It might be in the articles written on this car. I love to find out who has it. I don't think GM has it in the heritage center in Michigan.

Hemmings article says it would run on any type of fuel: kerosene, diesel or gasoline

It would be interesting to see where the car is and who owns it...

I contacted Christo Datini at the GM Heritage Center and he confirmed it is in the Heritage Center collection.

Picture

The car is on a chassis dyno and I'm guessing they are testing emissions.
