Any Hot Shot Truckers here?

Before I go to a broker I thought I'd ask here just in case.

Are any members here capable of trucking about 9,000 lbs of farm equipment from Albany NY area to West TN around the last week of April 2024? Somewhat flexible on dates.

30' step deck would probably do it. One compact tractor with BH and Bucket, one sub-compact tractor Kubota BX2200, some 3-point implements, ATV, Log splitter. Everything runs or rolls as it should.

Thanks

Sir,

Yesterdays Tractor.Com has a section called "Hauling Board" there are dozens of guys who specialize in just this type of hauling of farm equipment. You can place your needs up on the board or just contact one of them that advertise openings.

Yep, I'm a member there and will post there when it gets closer to the date. I'm more familiar with the members here so I thought I'd give it a try here too.

The general consensus over there was to try Uship ... which I like because it puts me in touch with the actual carrier rather than a broker.

Appreciate the input sir.

Best of luck getting everything hauled, but please keep in mind U-Ship is 90% brokers not individuals & unfortunately there is no way (other than recommendations from customers) to tell which brokers are the small percentage of quality ones.

Wish I could help, but it is just too much for my stuff:D

God Bless

Thanks for the heads-up, Bill! Appreciate the info about U-Ship and the caution. Best of luck with your own transport, and if you ever need Pontiac expertise, I know just the person.

Bill, I was hoping with Uship I could get in touch personally with a local shipper, figured I'd just ignore any offers with non-local phone numbers or contact info. Basically if I can't drive by their house or business and see them personally then I'd try to avoid them. Fairly big farming community up this way, hoping someone local sees the ad.

Sure you do Mike.

We should all trust someone whose first post is about contacting you about someone you know in the business……

I use Fr8star for moves such as that

Well I went through the Uship process and was very underwhelmed by the number of apparently clueless brokers that can't even read an ad.
But luckily one local guy, a farmer about an hour away saw my ad, so I've made arrangements with him. Seems a good family man, has nine kids, church going type and just does the occasional haul on the side. Price looks like it's going to be $3100, he'll be using a semi and flatbed. Tempted to drive my GTO on the trailer and have it take that too, but somehow that doesn't seem like a good idea between potential weather and theft.
Plan to rent a car trailer and tow it down myself.
