It is shown in the picture I posted of the driver's side spark plug wire loom in your other thread. One end of the spring attaches to the throttle linkage bracket bolted to the firewall and the other end to the bottom of the carburetor throttle arm.

I could see the one end. That’s what made me realize I was missing the spring. Any idea where I can get the spring?

Just go to O'Reillys or other brand auto store and pick up a carded spring off the rack. If you aren't sure of the length you need they have a 5 (it might be 6 or 7?) spring pack with various lengths in it for $4.99 or so. You can bend the loops on both ends to create what you need.

Thanks. That’s what I’ll do

There is the parts book picture of where it attaches.

Diamond Jim my instructions in post #2 was incorrect the front of the spring does not go to the lower throttle arm but to the bracket shown in the .jpeg in pfilean's post above. In the spring pkg mentioned in your thread re throttle return spring you will want to use one of the stiffer springs.

I understand. Thanks my friends!

Ames has the correct spring.

Thanks Dick! I like Ames
