Steve Ames was offered those cars prior to Ass Monkey restoring them. He said they were too rough for the price.

I’m not crazy about Richard and his monkies, and the Fast and Loud Show, they did do a nice job on those two cars though. Not worth that kind of money.

Just my opinion- those are both $30K cars on a good day. The early VINs add some value, but nowhere near what they're asking!

LOL! Yeah, 1 and 2 are only worth 60 grand. Meanwhile some guy with a numbers matching, date code, yadda yadda, 400 convertible wants 75 grand or more. :rolleyes:

The cars as optioned, without the low VIN, are $30K cars. The low VIN adds value.

Are you referring to number 15,000 rolling off the assembly line or number 1?

You can ask what ever you want. Doesn't mean someone will pay.

The ad says they are the most significant Firebirds ever built. I disagree. They are production cars with unremarkable options. Maybe someone else disagrees with me and will bid them up to $2 million. Gotta be worth it if someone is asking $1 mill for a 6 cylinder Mustang.

Yep, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

I'm not terribly impressed by the hype surrounding these two, they've literally been tainted by reality TV.

Saw them both in person. Looked like they were restored by Ray Charles.

VIN #001... the first Firebird ever, is probably worth some decent money. But the value drops off really fast after "#1", IMO.

I remember when these cars were on CL not too far from me in Michigan, for prices that in the present context were really cheap. And I thought, yeah - sure... those ratty looking Birds in that dudes barn are the first and second ones built. Right.

True that, plus lighting and props. I mean I personally think my 69 looks better at an indoor show then an outside one, the lighting makes everything pop.

The bid price is at $190k with another 17 hours to go. They're worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them.

True on all counts. But to have 1 and 2 together in the same collection does make number 2 worth quite a bit more. And to the Debbie Downers, ask Rick Hendrick about the significance of owning number 1 and number 2 of a paticular vehicle. He has a lot of them.
