The quality of 2nd gen T/A wheel flare welting

I purchased some of the OER wheel flare welting from Summit racing (daughter gave me a gift cert) a bit ago. Comparing it to the original stuff off my T/A it looks a tad narrower. I'm having a hard time getting it to make good contact with the body panel. Has anyone here tried this stuff for fit ? What results have you had? I know there is more expensive stuff on ebay but don't know how it compares. Thanks for any first hand guidance. Larry

There is a guy here that makes fantastic lacing and it comes in several colors. I believe his user name is Wizard 61. He sells on E-bay and is a great guy to deal with.

The 'molded in color' welting is much easier to work with;

Ive used the grey color welting sold by the foot from ames, looks factory correct and is very flexible & easy to install.

The more expensive stuff you’re referring to may be the colored welting referred to above. I recently purchased some and am overall pleased with it and it’s pictured below. There are a few spots it doesn’t sit perfectly against the body which may be due to the back side of the welting being a bit wide. It’s hard to explain and I don’t have any pictures of the back side but it could likely be managed if needed by trimming a bit and “rolling” the welting toward the body. As for the look, I feel like it’s worth the price.
