How Hot Was It Today?
 

Just for giggles and grins I put my outdoor thermometer out in the direct sunlight 10 minutes ago at at 6:03pm.

In the shade it hit 93°s.

Out in the hot sun it hit a scorching 115°s. :eek: I bet that won't be seen on this evenings weather report.

95F on the commute home

106* in the shade today, 2% humidity though. Reports say 112 by the weekend.

95 here, not to bad in the shade humidity wise, but we’re expecting the heat and humidity to increase the next few days. Of course I have a show Saturday. :rolleyes:

If was hot enough to make me put in all the window rattlers today......AC is on ..as of today. But up here in NH ...we don’t have that Swamp-Ass heat and humidity too much

I was cutting the grass today at 2:00 pm. Lafayette,LA. Whatever the weather man says, it was broiling hot.

We’ve had really wet weather here. The tiny Nats are attacking in swarms, hot and wet they love it. Last year a Nat went in my ear, bit me, which caused an infection, which landed me in the hospital for 3 days. Last night after dinner we were sitting on our deck watching the sun set, and I got bit again, on the outside of my same ear. I’m guessing it will get worse the rest of the week. Today I bought a can of Off bug spray this weather is crazy, and the bugs are horrible! :wife:

91 here today. Summer has arrived...

Truck said it was 108 at 3pm when I was leaving work here today. But it’s a dry heat.... [emoji849]

Thanks, just a bit too far for me on a hot day. Im sure the car would make it fine, but I havent ventured that far yet. I need to get over my fear of long distance!

I hear that, I don’t do long distance on a 94 degree day either, I’m really only going out of curiosity and it’s in a park with a lot of shade, and a straight run from my house to the park.

No no no! Set the thermometer out IN the sun and see what you get. I don't need to see temps from in the shade. In the direct sunlight is how I got my reading. That's what I'm looking for.

1:30PM it was 118°s in the full sun.... not in the shade.

It’s 3:05 here and this is outside my kitchen window under the eves.

In a way it's makes up North look a bit better...... not really tho. I still can't stand the cold weather up there. Down here I can always get out of the heat to where it's cooler.

I work outside around steel pipe. The pipe soaks up the heat and make the temp even worse.

Yes I can imagine it because I live it. Mike does it everyday 10 hours a day. He works in Industrial Construction which is building pads for cell towers, putting laterals in, running pipe, building water treatment and sewer plants, welding, a lot of demolition work. They also do utility finding with special trucks. Anything they tear up to replace broken pipes they must put back exactly the way it was. Sidewalks, yards, streets, man holes, light poles etc. soooooo he is in the heat and cold every day at 62 years old.

I was in Palm Desert on Monday and it was 109. When I got to my meeting, a crew of gardeners was mowing the lawn/trimming the hedges.

Im an outside worker as well. A couple of years we were putting a steel roof, mill finish, on a large industrial building in July. Ground temp was in the 100's, I cant imagine what the temp reflecting off the metal was, but it was HOT :mad: Seems about every july or august we get a roof job.

Its so hot - I saw some meth addicts putting the copper back into an air conditioner.

In the thermometer in the shade stayed a 100°s all afternoon. Just now it dropped to 98. But the reason being for the drop in temperature is.... we have a storm brewing.

Back to topic....... 97 here today, tomorrow is supposed to be the worst day, and I have a show tomorrow I’ve never been to, looks out of my comfort zone, but I’m curious and it’s close to home. :oogle::oogle:

I turned my yard irrigation sprinklers on today and all I got was steam!

I just did the same at 10:45AM. In the shade it was 95°s. Out in the direct sunlight it's..... hold on..... 112°s so far. But it will climb even higher by noon and on thru the afternoon. I'm about ready to go swimming in my koi pond.

I wonder how they get the temps out in Death Valley, and I'm glad I'm not out there to find out.

Its 88 outside at 12:30pm on it's way to 95deg. And inside the plant.........well, the pic says it all

It’s hot it’s really HOT! I’m at a car show but under a big old tree. With lots of shade and a breeze. Watching the sky supposed to get a nasty storm late day.

Hot ,86 so they say,my thermometer said 92,and very humid here,even in shade. Working in garage,sweating.

Well.... we had a pretty good thunder storm here with rain. It cooled off to 79. Oh what a relief it is.

It was 95 today in central Oklahoma...nothing crazy for us. I feel for those in the Northeast! We've had the second wettest spring, on record, that may help keep our temps down. I work in a non AC shop, it can get vile. I do OK up to 95, over that, it's just too hot!

88 here, just got back from the Mountains. Not that humid.. yet

Said 110 yesterday when I was hiking Piestewa Peak in central Phoenix. Showed 111 at the gas station in the LeMans an hour later. Seemed about right. :p
