Metal Firebird emblem to cover window crank hole

When did they stop using the pot metal Firebird emblem that covers the window crank hole.
All the NOS ones I’ve seen on Ebay look plastic.
Does anyone make a metal reproduction one?

I'm thinking 74....was last year for metal......

I haven't seen any metal repro's.....just plastic...

This may not be the correct place for this, but, does any have a spare metal one they would be willing to part with?

I think the part number was an early 1970 Car only part number. Superseded in late 70 by the plastic one. Every early 1970 bird I have seen will have the cast metal window crank covers. They are rare. I have not seen these on 71 and up cars that are original. Have seen these on later cars that someone bought or found some and swapped. They are nice. I have an NOS set for my early 70 TA. Just my observation.

They were definitely used till 73...at least.....

Early production 70's with power windows.......had NO hole in door panel....for crank...or emblem....

I have one that needs TLC. I think they have 3 posts on back, two on top, one on bottom? The bottom one is broke off on mine. The bird silver is wore, but I think they are the same as dash panel bird and if repo'd could be changed. Or silver re-lined to edges on this one.

you are welcome to it, not sure it is better than none :)

Ken - there /\ /\ is your answer!

Mine has a screw though it so that’s an offer I can’t refuse.

Just curious..Does anyone have a pic of one of these, or do they appear the same as the later plastic versions?

HO Kenny 06-21-2019 11:35 AM

2 Attachment(s)
Pics of the one without the screw and a plastic one.
The biggest differences other than weight is the outer rim is machined and wider than the plastic one and the pebble grain background is slightly different.

I'm pretty sure those are the latter plastic ones.
