I didn't know they made these new. Part # is listed as a replacement I wonder if its the same dimension as the original?

I dont have a stock 66' to compare to.

Thanks for posting that link PMD1969

This pulley is for 68 and up. It will cause belts to be a bit out of alignment. It can possibly cause a belt to flip or come off. I think these sell new for around $25.00

Here is the difference between the 66-67 and 68-69 double pulley. Left pulley is 66 right pulley is 68 1964758 Notice inner groove is almost identicle. outer groove is in a slightly different location. It will cause the belt to come off or flip at high RPM. The pulley shown in the earlier post is the same as the 1964758, but aftermarket. I can supply that new shipped for $25.00, but it is not right for the 1966 or 1967. I do not know of anyone that supplies the 66-67 pulley new.

Respectfully disagree...

As much as I think this is great info; FWIW I have been running this Alt pulley for many years and the belt alignment is near perfect,
or at least as good as when it left the factory ;)
I drive her a lot and not very nicely I might add :D

So you are running that 68/69 alt pulley on your 66' set up with no problems? If so I think I'll give it a shot.

Thanks for the pics as I have not seen a assy unit in person.

stellar 03-18-2013 09:19 PM

That alignment looks good.

Jeff Hamlin 03-19-2013 05:52 AM

It was no issue and no added spacers.

I will add; I run the oem cast PS pulley as well.
Very hard to come by but it too as you can see has the wider center spacing.

I received my 66' balancer today and noticed that it looked like a pulley may have been mounted so I called and they have the pulley available that bolts to the balancer. They want $75.00 for the pulley I know that seems high but I cant find one anywhere. So its prob worth the price right? The part # for the 1bbl balancer pulley they have is 9783100.

They also have a complete 66' Powersteering pump with the htf pulley also a little high in price but very hard to find.

If it's available and no other member has one for sale, then you need to grab them. You may pay a premium, which is unfortunate. But a business needs to charge more.

You can run the part number in the PY parts lookup. It comes up as a '66 1bbl, driving only one accessory.

Jeff Hamlin 03-27-2013 05:52 AM

Would they have been the ones from Franks?
If so then yes priced right at the top of the scale,
but where are you going to find another?

PMD1969 03-27-2013 03:11 PM

Anyone have the Delco part number for the 66 double alt pulley?
