GTO Celebration

As we are all aware, 2014 marks the 50th anniversary of our beloved Pontiac GTO; the car that launched an industry segment, the American Musclecar. With numerous events scheduled across the country saluting the glory of the GTO, I have just launched a Facebook page for all to use in sharing their club's events.

The Facebook page is http://facebook.com/GTOCelebration

I also encourage all to list your event information here in this thread. I will then make certain it is loaded on the GTO Celebration Facebook page.

You can also email me your flyer for posting. Send it to dave@4mypontiac.com.

Jim Wangers and I have put together a big event for March 8, 2014 (March is the Car and Driver Magazine cover date) at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo, CA.

The event will not only celebrate the GTO's 50th Birthday, but will celebrate the dawning of a new era...the Musclecar Era as birthed by the GTO.

A special display of GTOs will feature the '64 Car and Driver GTO Test Car, now owned by Tenney Fairchild. On the event date, we will also feature a select number of prized American Musclecars sourced from various car clubs throughout the West.

We will also be closing off the street so that the Southern California Gathering of Goats can host a "gathering" of Pontiacs and other American Performance Cars.

The event will conclude with a catered lunch and a presentation from Jim Wangers on the infamous Car and Driver GTO vs. GTO Test...and all that surrounded it.

Mark the date...March 8, 2014.

More details to follow.

In 1964 Pontiac stood the General Motors establishment on their heads with the introduction of the GTO. Born 1964, the GTO launched the Musclecar Era and as they say, "The rest is history!"

The infamous Car and Driver magazine test story featured a Red GTO and a Blue GTO...and the "BORN 1964" GTO Hats are available in both Red and Blue for our GTO Celebration.

Click over to http://geetotiger.com/merchandise.html to pick up your "BORN 1964" GTO Hat.
