Removed vinyl top on my 72 lemans, now what?
 

My car has the original paint. The paint is rough, but no rust. The body is Sundance orange with white top. The top is shot so I removed it. I expected to find the top painted underneath the vinyl. It does not appear to be painted or primed, but no surface rust was found either.
I am not ready to paint the car yet, but would like to protect the roof until I do. How should I protect it? Primer? If so what kind. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Epoxy prime it for now.
