Big Block '68 Custom Corvette
I'm not a fan of Corvettes, but this 68 is interesting. And the price is great. I only wish I could see more of what's behind the seats. Would I buy it... yeah, I probably would IF I had the money.

I can appreciate the work that went into this car but it isn't for me even if I had plenty of money!

Not a Corvette Fan, especially a 1968 Corvette.

Back in 1954, Chevy rolled out the Corvette Nomad concept, a wagon based on the Corvette's original design. It never entered production, but in 2004, Advance Automotive Technologies created such a model, turning the C6 Corvette into a practical wagon, and one is now for sale.Dec 21, 2020

A fellow down here had one of those who brought it to local shows off and on. As I recall he had a blower sticking up out of the hood. This was several years ago. Although I'm not a fan of that era Vette either my thought every time I saw that car was that "Well, someone sure ruined a Vette!".

The 68-72 bumper cars are the best Vettes made imo, but I hate the wagon conversions. I love custom Vettes but I never could get into the wagons

1969. Can’t get in. Have to roll out and fall on the ground to get out. Rattles like a box or rocks. Rides like a wagon on a rock road. But…. When you’ve got that 412 SBC wound out and you’re slamming gears with the rock crusher, and she’s skating the 4.11s in every gear…. Wow! Totally different dynamic than the A-Body Pontiac and, one every car guy should experience at least once. This was a car I drug out of an old girlfriends garage and got running and sold for her kids after she passed. It hadn’t run in a decade. Was covered and filth and pretty well done for before I put the magic on it. Made good money. That said, it’s gone and, I get my 70 Lemans back next week and I can’t wait! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3747236f3e.jpg [emoji16]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ca0b887435.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Definitely different. Imagine building that from scratch,,,if someone likes it it's a hell of a deal for 20k.

Not a fan. :gag:
Horrible customizing trend that I’m glad we left behind in the ‘70s. |
I had a 64 and loved it! You had to understand IRS and rear steer. They were designed for the owner who does his own wrenching. Duntov was such a cool dude.
Here is a much better Corvette thread. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...thread.545759/ |

Kinda cool. Looks like a old Hot Wheels car.
|
I'm no Corvette fan but I did think it's a bit cool. Overpowered by far but cool the way the rear section was built.
I'm just glad I didn't buy that light blue 327 66 4speed white convertible top Vette, with the original hardtop, back in 1970.... for 2200 bucks. With only 38,0452 miles on it. I'm still alive. |
In 1967 while in the Air Force I had the desire to own a Corvette, so I went to a local Chevy dealer to buy one. I had my eye on a convertible, the color was Marlboro Maroon and it had Saddle Tan interior.
But that specific dealership would not discuss it because I was not 21 yet and refused to sell me the car. . |
I like the car, it’s different and the price was amazing.
|
My girlfriend has always wanted a c3 corvette. They just look so small on the inside, I'm sure she'll fit in one just fine but I am 6'6" and I really doubt whether I'll even be able to fit myself in the passenger seat..
Those wagon conversions are just butt ugly if you ask me. The only wagon conversions that I like are the 71-76 Caddy ones.. |

The seller should have taken the $25,000 it was bid to on BAT IMO. He had already paid the sellers fees.
I think the lack of any access to the rear storage area (other than folding the seats forward) Hurts it quite a bit in value. Just an opening rear hatch, or even just the rear window like a Gremlin would add greatly to the conversion. I sorta like it, and I sorta don't at the same time. It is different! |
