I would also check the hose going from the radiator to the overflow tank. Make sure it’s not collapsed or full of junk. Same goes for the tank. It all needs to be free flowing.

Have you considered going with a bigger cam? A 455 with 6x-4 heads is most likely between 9 and 10:1 compression. Going with a RAIV size cam would definitely help the situation.
