I've never had an issue keeping my cars cool. Even in stop and go Las Vegas traffic at 115ºF out, so I must be doing something right.

My '69 Firebird, I run a trimmed Chevy HHR fan off Amazon....

As long as the oil doesn't sludge up they run fine. Sludge will starve the top end of oil and trash the cam. I don't know of a single timing belt failure, but in any case its a non-interference...
