As a test, measure the voltage at regulator...
As a test, measure the voltage at regulator terminal 3 (black with red stripe typically) and then at terminal "F" (blue wire) And also at terminal 4. All with the key off and battery connected.

yep, 1 filament is probably brighter than the other, but as mentioned the bulb and socket side pins are staggered so the bulb only goes in one way. BTW, I have either never seen a socket like that or...

I have a '91 Caddy Allante...the plug gap is specified at .060...OEM....widest OEM gap I've ever seen. I backed it down to .045 which is a more common HEI spec. Don't need to stress the ignition...
