Regarding the original radio not working, do you hear a light "pop" from the speaker when you turn it on? And have you checked to see if the factory harness connector is still plugged into the back...

Keep in mind that these cars ran hot in hot weather when they were new. And a convertible is far more enjoyable driving with the top down in the cooler weather. :-)

Also, many people overfill...

The original round disc on the '67 I sold last fall looked more red to me, but the chart called it orange. And by the looks of it when removed, I doubt that it ever had a can a carb cleaner touch it....

It's difficult to tell in the photo, but does your decal have a clear gloss film over the printed part? That's how I can usually tell an original from an older reproduction. Pontiac began using those...
