I'm sure you did your research about the Olds 4-bbl manifold, but I know the Oldsmobile 215 was slightly different in the head design. I can't say whether the intake flange was the same or not.

Offenhauser Dual Quad Intake #5499 ('65-up heads) For Sale

I have an Offenhauser #5499 dual quad intake manifold for 1965 and newer heads for sale. It is in excellent almost new condition with nearly no pitting from water corrosion. The ports are untouched....

No question the non-grooved lower bearing would be stronger, but it's going to take a pretty strong argument to convince me that outweighs the need for the rod bearings to have constant oil pressure....
