Another thing I was thinking, leave you gaskets...
Another thing I was thinking, leave you gaskets hit the valley pan when you install them. You might have to cut a bit off to line up the posts, But I find it help hold the gaskets in place.

Can you post a better pic of the bottom of the intake runners. It doesn't look like there is much sealing area. I would test fit the intake without the valley pan in your way for starters to see...

Case in point. Take the spark plugs out and spin the engine over. It spins pretty easily. So there can't be that much resistance to the valve springs.

I looked up the spec for micro rating and didn't find any. Does says it's a high flow filter. Maybe that's why higher pressure reading. More flow. I always assumed that filter was more restrictive....
