I use short stubby rubber stems off motorbikes....

I use short stubby rubber stems off motorbikes. They seem quite stiff and less prone to flexing. Neat and out of harms way and designed for jap sports bikes.

Maybe drive down the old Hume Highway south out of Sydney for something to see other than 4 lane freeway. Perhaps head back to Sydney via the Blue Mountains, that is if you are driving to Wagga 😀....
