Youll mess up the swirls using any kind of polish. I used a dab of mothers on an old dash plate just to see what would happen and sure enough if you rub it in it polishes away the swirls.

I have a shaker from an 81 that i could switch over to the base of the 76 shaker, my main concern is the air cleaner pan giving me correct clerarance.
