Junkyard Radiator in a '66?

Hi! Quick question: Can you use a late model aluminum radiator out of a junkyard, in an old Pontiac? I've got a '66 Bonnie with a 455, what would work size wise? Heat wise? Why dont people do this?

My carb is a standard Edelbrock Carter AFB 750. (1407?) I havent touched the jets and dont have an o2 sensor to check the mix. I do know that it is pulling 14-16 lbs. of vacuum....
