The ground wire for the dash cluster= both 64 and 65 Lemans & GTO.

On 64 or 65 there is no actual ground strap that I can remember, for the gauges ground there is just one thin black wire that is partway tape wrapped into the main dash harness.

One end of that...

Are you looking for the ones that press into the upper control arm(s) or the bigger ones that slip onto the threaded strut rod(s) underneath the car?

Temperature gauge, the 3/4 line?

The temperature gauge: the spacing on the lines is non-linear. I am sure GM did that on purpose. Just FYI) The fuel and oil pressure gauges both read linear by design; +-2%.

My tests tell me...

67 A body dash panel support bracket/ground strap.

The hole that far away end fits into is on the topside of the heavy-duty steel brace that the brake pedal attaches to. The hole is actually oval shaped.

Just FYI: The brace serves 2...

wiper motor stuck

One problem that I used to see often at work (& this was in the 1980s) was that the GM wiper motor's armature would stick. Two things can make it do that: 1) was a dry oilite bushing on one or...

One thing about any of those 1960s, 1970s era wiper motors is that they are noisy. So much so that GM decided to mount the motor to the firewall using 3 rubber bushings. There is a need for the...

There is another sensor very similar to that one only it senses air temperature. It was behind the glovebox on 1978 and 1979 GM cars. and I recall it held back power from going to the blower motor...

Engine metal temperature sensor

That reminds me of a sensor that Ive seen before on other GM cars. It senses metal temperature. It may have something to do with a delay for the blower motor if the temperatures are too cold, The...

Hi, if it's the 2 brown wires I am thinking of, that is key on "only" 12 volts battery +. (It may not even be fused.)

Can you post a photo of the 2 wires and the plastic plug-in end?

Rally gauge, temperature gauge inop.

This would most...

Ground bracket, = all 66 A body cars

That rear bracket is the ground for the gauges but also it is an anti-vibration device as the bezel in a 66 is much taller than the 64-65 bezel and so the center of the dash, it really needs a little...
