WOuld you believe...

So I got to thinking, or more correctly, remembering, why when I had the seats redone long ago, did I not finish the seat back?

Dug out the list of what might be in the garage attic, and lo and...

QJ

I bought a QJ last year and very much like it.
Use it for my Firebird, TA, and the DDs.

Only beefs- Teflon tape or sealer, the instructions I received did not include mention of cure time (or...

71 Seat Back panels, will standard fit same as custom/deluxe?

I've known the standard seat back panels were repop'd.
Do they fit the same? I've never compared.

I must improve my seat back panels, they detract from the interior, which is now essentially all...

Slow to reply

Thank all for your input.

The Edelbrock manifold is likely the way I'd go, just need to work out which one, allowing for the Formula hood and the throttlebody being most likely thinner than a...

Alternatives to Unobtanium - 71 Deluxe interior white plastic parts

My understanding is no repop exists for many interior plastic parts for the 71 interior, and a deluxe interior is even a worst case.

What have people done for the front seat back panel, seat lever...

Thanks all - I made it to Pasteiners

Thanks Again.
Made it early to Pasteiners (it gets crowded quick, though I parked a ways away). Even bought book.

Thanks

Thank you
Appreciate the good info.

I was initially very confused by Cruisin’ Gratiot. When I lived in the area that was a Friday & Saturday night kinda thing. But that is later in the day...

June 17 Detroit area Cars and Coffee type gathering, where should I go?

I’ll be in Warren MI for the weekend, and was wondering what car guy stuff might be going on Saturday a.m. and where, particularly if a Pontiac focus exists?
Thanks

Thanks, I knew I had seen a photo of a manifold modified to work with a Holley upper, just could not remember any details to find.
Very interesting, maybe too tall still for me, or maybe outside...

FI Intake Manifold options - anything beyond single/dual plane that is not custom?

I'll apologize for such a basic question in advance.
The plan is to put a Holley FI system using port injection in my '71 Firebird (using a Formula hood). Needless to say this has a huge...

Owner added

The owner added. Ram Air hood only on WS6 cars, never a separate option.
And the Comp T/As and NHRA cars...I'm not sure those were put together.

Tail light housings

They've been stupid expensive shortly after production ended
Fortunately, I bought OE ones for my 94 back back in June 2002 for...$230 pair.

Always been a popular mod for 93-97 as base and TA...

Great Thread, subscribed.

I really appreciate the details and pictures. My plan/dream is to FI my '71, and this will use a Formula hood, so intake, throttle body, etc. combination is going to be...

A sad C&C

Wow.
The "image of Cars and Coffee is to show rare and amazing cars". Only in the mind of the person who wrote that flyer. The ethos of C&C is an unstructured gathering [as best as possible in...

Going against the grain

While I completely respect those who answered, I dare say any Fender emblem from 1971 will work. See photo of a 71 Formula 400 emblem on my 71 Esprit, using barrel nuts.

I very much doubt the...

Get an LS

I’ve had my 94 TA GT since new, November 1993. Shoulda sold it in 2001 and got a new one with the LS. So much cheaper to make MORE POWER, the aftermarket is frozen for LT parts, no development for...

Maybe Dad was cool

So I had heard of my dad's car when he was a young engineer for GM, but I found the slide: 1957 Oldsmobile Super 98 convertible. Apparently he bought it one year used. The last personal car...

Great fantasy art

I like the art, but a Firebird in the snow, at the slopes even. That’s funny.

I remember barely getting up hills (or the driveway) in snowstorms back in the day (or snow coming through the holes...

A record eBay asking price for base early 2nd gen?

Other than what gets posted here, I don’t pay attention to 2nd gen prices, mine’s still not finished and I never plan to sell. Next purchase, if ever, is a 1st gen. sometimes an eBay listing is...

Curious, what can an Olds 403 TA command?

Not sure I’ve ever seen such a price for Olds powered Pontiac.
Anyone bother to track such prices?

The 403 immediately causes me to lose interest.
One man’s opinion though
