I can't speak for '72s but these lights were included as part of a convenience lamp option in '71. Also included a trunk lamp on everything, and an underhood lamp on non TAs (not sure about...

Substituting plastic for steel plug wire standoffs
removing the sunvisor center tabs
outboard front seat belts (retractors in 70, flat in 71)
eliminating the chrome engine dress for 71
