Also if you have the 67 GTO, Lemans, Tempest Assembly Manual on page 1-22 are the locating dimensions on a diagram. Let me know if you don't have that manual and I'll take a picture of the drawing.

When I had to do this I contacted Ames tech support and they took measurements from one of their originals. I'll see if I still have the email from them.

Thanks for the response. Damper Doctor still advertises in Hemings so wondering how good they are and if it’s worth getting the original rebuilt or just get a new one

Do you have an Ignitor under your distributor cap? I've had 2 of those things, similar problems. I'm done, went back to points no more problems.
