Replace both battery cables. They may look good...

Replace both battery cables. They may look good on the ends, but there is probably corrsion on the inside. Also clean the connections on both ends.

The biggest problem was technology. Most of the emmisions (assuming we are talking 70's technology)end up restricting airflow.
