trying to understand the coil
I got a 64Catalina, with a 389. I can't get it to start, and get no spark out of the coil tothe distributor, SO I believe the problem is the coil. I have asked other questions to do with this...

I don't know where the terminals are that you are saying to test? there are two terminals on the3 top sides of the coil, and the top where the wire goes tothe dist cap. which are the two...

thats my next question about coils...
so now that they are mostly universal for distributors with points, , how do I test for primary and secondary as you mentioned?? A used one would be fine to use correct?

Are coils specific?
As in, do I have to have a certain one for my 64 Catalina (389) or are they more generic, as in any or most any coil will work? the only thing mine says on it is Delco remy, I can't find anything...

I attached the condenser as in the photo
took the good advice on how to install the two piece, whith the old screw that was still there, itall fits well, but still no spark, I am suspecting my coil is weak??

Thanx for the goodpic, I did not know the condesner went on the opposite side, I tought about it and was thinking the connection wire might rub against the dist shft, but I guess thats where it goes....
