Well, my "daily driver" is my 69 400 (w/455)...

Well, my "daily driver" is my 69 400 (w/455) Firebird, so yes. Granted, I don't work, so I fill up the tank every month.

The family car is a 2010 Honda Odyssey and pretty mush drive it as a car....

I've always used the alternator positive terminal...

I've always used the alternator positive terminal and run the timing cable through the hood spring so not to have the cable cut the fan blade.

I needed both done and the doctor would have done both together, but my immune system isn't 100% so I picked the worse first. Felt great for the first month until infection...

Not sure if this well help, but back in the day, I bought a Hurst "Indy-matic" automatic shifter for my Nova. Your Indy stick doesn't have the Hurst logo, which is odd.

I'd be cautious about adding a spacer. I did that years ago and the fan impaled the radiator in short order. The spacer I used was larger than 1" though.
