Just for grins...
I have a '68 XS block, dated A258, but cast # is 9790071. This block has been in possesion of a factory backed, or at least dealer sponsored racer, also had round port heads with numbers ground off...

I"m not sure, but if they are electronically controlled like S-10s, could be as simple as the switch.

unless this is service replacement. Numbers are as such; 7029270, then an 0494. then :24?8, looks like an 8 or a 9, guess that could be Julian date, and the two dots do precede the number. Then a 47H...

Anyone know...
what Rick Johnson's '62 GP weighs? Just curious. Car has run 8s. Went 9.0s at Norwalk. I know there's a "little bit" of carbon fiber in its make-up.

you to be @ 12.60s right now. See how close I get. You lose roughly 22% in a rear wheel drive vehicle to parasitic, drive line in particular. That Turbo eats @ 40 hp. You will need @ 400 rwhp to get...

Dammit ...Brian!
Just teasing. SIs are excellent choices. Anyway, when you have a day off, we can take all my cranks to Jim, he's ready to polish. You can have the "pick of the litter" if you ride down with me....

to an extent. They do interchange, however, there is a "flat spot" on top of each side axle tube on GP rears. Don't ask me why. Put a '69 GP rear into a '69 GTO ragtop, only noticable difference.

Trend?
Seems everyone wants a four-cogger...just like the old days. Tougher to find "correct" one for your car. Simple to find one that will work. I have a later M-21 that is much stronger than early units....

Yes, he is a personal friend. In fact, my son went up and stayed a few days with Milt to help hang the exhaust, among other things, on the '66. I would have no problem enlisting his help and probably...

the nut is on top. Nothing carved in stone, as you know, with a mass-produced car made in various plants. I have mine down, but they are also chrome. Every one I've dismantled had the nut on top.

If you mean the rod that connects the clutch pedal to the Z-bar, I have several, I can easily provide pix & specs. Getting ready to have a bunch plated.

Killer.....!
That is, by far, the baddest '68 I have ever seen! I was considering a "Bobcat" '69 ragtop, as I have a correct '69 XF 4-bolt 428/370 hp engine ready to go. It's originally a 2-bbl car. If I have...

In '69, Pontiac decided they could build a cheaper version, which they did. Not a true Dual gate, with slider bar and all, but a gated design that worked as a conventional shifter, but had 1-2-3...

Sounds correct...
with your set-up, that would have been GM's tranny of choice. I got an M-20 in my '64 Impala SS. Why wouldn't Pontiac be using Muncies in '64? I'd bet yours is correct, just need to decifer build...
