As stated, the purple ones should be the starting circuit. No clutch switch until 69; the factory put a jumper on that plug for manual transmission cars.

I'm not really sure how it broke. New pilot bushing and throwout bearing, and the fork and its pivot ball are in good shape. Only thing I can think of is maybe it got cracked while it was kicking...

I am not sure which gearset this one has. I didn't check before we installed it in the car. Is there a way to tell without pulling anything? It is floor shifted; it came with the factory ITM shifter....

I saw this on Ames website, Maybe this is what I need. A different style push rod retainer that Ames lists for 67-72.

My concern is that without the retainer, the rod could fall out. Does it sit tightly enough that it won't fall out of the back of the new master cylinder? I didn't look that closely when I pulled it...

Good information! Unfortunately my new master cylinder didn't come with a push rod. I think i have a rod like that though; I'll have to dig around the shop and see if I can find one.

That diagram shows exactly what I just pulled off my son's car. I'm trying to see what the 67 configuration looks like, although according to Ames, all manual brakes use the same rod 64-72.
