Tom and I were on the dyno the same weekend, I just looked at my dyno sheet and the date was 6/24/2010...

He built a beautiful aluminum Catalina... he took his time and hit the track once...

As far as mandrels are concerned, imo the best one out there is made by Star... it has splines as you can see and a hex end so you can turn the engine over with...

I have always used just a leak down gauge... crank the regular up some then some soap and water in a squirt bottle... you will find bubbles (air leaks)

Biggest spot I ran into was the welds on...
