Did you find anything out here, struggling with the same problem.OEM 332608 bushing measures 1.05" plus shims? Service manual says clearance of 0.875" c-b, can't believe it compresses that much?

The original GM number for the parts is upper GM...

The original GM number for the parts is upper GM 478779 and lower GM 490693, I think it is the same as for 73-75.

6X-8 Heads

Is there any difference on the 6X-8 heads, I have a pair of 75mod and a pair of 77mod. Is it one of these couples that has an advantage over the other?

Subframe bushing

Can anyone tell me the differences between GM 356513 and GM 332609 subframe bushing? Part list for my Firebird 76 says GM 356513, but bushing mounted on the car was 332609.

How is the quality of Eagle cast crankshaft today? They have had a bad reputation earlier. Is there a better alternative to use?

Thanks for your answer. I have a lathe in the garage so it's a simple matter to make bushing myself. I'm more worried of more cowl flex, maybe it is better to stick with the original

Does anyone know the height of the subframe bushing on firebird 76. Those under the firewall are higher than the rear under the seats. Have a plan to turn someone in aluminum, but those on the car...
