center cap question

So I put a set of snow flakes on my 76 as i didnt like the ralleye wheels. I bought a set of center caps but the front caps hit the dust shield and wont click on. Rears go on fine. Anyone else have...

Came across this 71 today. Original owner wants $1500 for it. It’s got its original 400, auto car.
Looks to far gone to restore but it would make a good donor car.
