Love it I have too much gear (3.73) too much compression too big a carb and all the cubes I could afford...

IMO filling the block is well worth doing for strengthening.
As far as cooling volume I don’t believe that’s as important the benefits of added strength.
Many disagree of course and I’m fine with...

Also what about ignition setting at idle… as far as heads the 5C heads are actually really good...

Since it starts "easily cold" you said, I would suspect the float is sinking not the carb leaking. if it leaks down over nite it will be very hard to start in the mornings as the carb will be empty....
