Normally the stock vacuum advance provides more than 10 degrees. I’ve found that 12-15 degrees initial , with about 22 degrees centrifugal advance works well. That gives you 34-37 degrees total...

Are you sure about the ported vacuum on stickshift cars? I am certain that on '66 GTO's with Tripower, manifold vacuum was used for both auto and stick vacuum advance.
