Not sure about the Pontiac judges but the Corvette guys like to see no more than 9 months lead. Usually alternators are about 1 or 2 months before the cars build date. Maybe longer if you Have a rare...

Core support bolts are 30-40 ft./lbs Frame...

Core support bolts are 30-40 ft./lbs
Frame bolts are 75-95 ft./lbs
Torque specs are from the 67 Camaro assembly manual.

I've been using this since 2007 in my Firebird. No problems other than the smell. When I shut the car off you can smell hot coolant. Cooling system is in perfect condition. No leaks. It just smells...

I swapped an 8.5 from a 72 Nova into my 67 Firebird. I reused all the original Firebird brake parts on the new axle with no problems.

No it will not work with 3.42 gears. Your case has a casting no. 410409. That is a 2 series carrier. You need a 3 series carrier. Casting no. is 410408

I had to do 1 mount on my frame. Here are some pics. I ground the weld smooth and drilled the hole out. You can't tell it was repaired.

According to the 69 Pontiac shop manual(page 4C-4) the 4 speed drive shaft is 49.96 inches long. TH400 is 49.30 long. hope this helps

I can finally post this as I finally got to dyno tune my Bird today.

1972 400 block. Stroker kit with 4.250 stroke. 6.8 Eagle H beam rods. 4.150 bore = 461 CID.

KRE 85cc d port aluminum heads...
