Since it's made to slide/adjust by design the thin rigid gaskets seem to work best.
If your gaskets are brittle toss them, New are avail.

and like the Cam House Gaskets, IMO didn't work well.

They were too thick and soft and when torqued down would squish/spread out causing more leaks...
