Springs do not lose "rate" with time. They only lose load capability. So if your car is riding really low, that might be a problem. But if the ride height is near stock, don't waste your time...

Is it called out on the invoice? Or was it an accessory installed at the dealer?
I'm not sure I've ever seen one with a factory installed hood lamp.

It's been my observation that the braced hoods are more often bowed. It's possible those braces were added for some other reason than preventing bowing.
