Figure of speech everyone understands. Ever heard someone say they were so hungry they could eat a horse? Do you really go on to believe they could really eat a horse? You police officers take things...

I just have a few things to say about this.

Everything being offered against me is strictly speculation on all Joe's friends part. Don't get me wrong, I have respect for those guys, I met them...

Your right Joe, I was thinking about another customer that sent a balancer with his engine. Point is, I did not suggest a Romac balancer. I never would have even thought about suggesting a Romac...

I'll say it again, that noise is not piston slap. The pistons are 2618 material and they require a minimum of .0045" clearance and when I measured them they are at .0047" after honing it. It's not...

There were at least 5 of us throughout the dyno sessions that were standing in the dyno room, right next to the engine while it was idling, and at fast idle. I set the timing several times throughout...

They call for .0045"-.0055" clearance. I originally set them up at .0045", It's been lightly honed now twice so it is now around .0047"-.0048" I can guarantee it's not piston slap. It would need...

Engine does not have a 4-7 swap cam in it. If it did, it never would have made 540 HP and 570 ft. lbs. missing like it is now.

Good thought, but I do check this also when I check the cam for bent. This cam only had .001" runout. Most cams I see have .002"-.003" runout and they have never been a problem.

First off, Joe did NOT get charged for fixing the engine after the bearing spun. Not sure how that came into belief. #5 rod bearing was eaten up. The heat transferred into #6 rod although #6 bearing...

Shaft looked beautiful except for some light polishing from the bushing. No scratches or galling in it at all. Reluctor looked good except for being shined up where it was rubbing.

I marked it all with a sharpy. It can still be a couple degrees off though which could put initial over 20BTDC very easily. Then with vacuum advance on top of it, it could be 30 something degrees...

I asked dyno guy about this. The temp probe is temp in the dyno room. The engine pulls air from outside, through the air meter in the ceiling, not dyno room air.

$10 oil filter has nothing to do with this. A full flow filter simply cannot filter fine enough to catch everything. If it did, the engine would starve for oil. Also, we always cut open the oil...

The engine made 559/540 without a tapered spacer under the carb. We re-dynoed it with a tapered spacer and it ended up making 570.5 ft. lbs. @ 4400, and 539 HP at 5700 RPM. From 4700-6300 RPM it made...
