The '67 GTO factory leads on each light unit will have a grommet on the wire that is pushed up into the hole
when feeding the wire into the trunk. Then connections are made into the taillight...

My '67 has back-up lights...the lemans and tempest flavor did not..the backups were part of the taillight assy.

'67 holes

I believe the answer is: They are for your back-up lights. The feed wire to them goes through those holes and a gray rubber grommet that is on the back-up light wire fits in there. Hope that helps,...

Otherwise if exposed to water/rain while parked, No leak....

The seam needs to be at the trunk lock striker or it will leak.

A thin bead of 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive completely around the bottom of the channel is needed.
