Not likely the pusher is going to work. The same fan mounted behind a given rad will work better than mounted in front of the same radiator. FWIW th pusher is usually just not a way to gain more flow...

I think the shifter position depends on the shifter brand. I have a Richmond 5 Speed..non O/D with a Hurst shifter in a 66 Vette. It is spot on side to side and front to rear in the Vette console....
