The heads were rebuilt at the same time as the motor. Paul Carter built the heads and did the machining.

I'll check the rockers to see if one came loose.

It's black carbon. Not wet oil.

The noise is definitely coming from the tach wire...

The noise is definitely coming from the tach wire connected to the distributor/coil. That's why I took it out. Maybe the capacitor should be hooked up to that wire? I'll check the fuse box tonight.
