Auto Zones have the press and I've done them both...
Auto Zones have the press and I've done them both on and off the car. I actually think doing them in my big vise is easier than the press, just use a PVC fitting for a 'receiver' to accept the ball...

For 66 the one oval is most common. I had to send back a bushing set because it said for 64-67 A-body, but the 66 Temp/LeMans/GTO were almost all of the Oval variety for the lower.

They're not welded they are splined interference...
They're not welded they are splined interference fit. Tap them in with a hammer. Dont put a socket on the heads and spin them you will screw up the splines on the bolts. Ask me how I know.

The two bolts with the spacers are what attaches the control arm to the chassis. Those are what you take off in order to remove your control arm.
