I'd be looking for a complete, albeit damaged, bumper. Cracks and splits can be filled with the 3M compound. Replacing a complete end is not something I'd attempt.

Yes it sucks. And another vote for durablocks. I found using soft foam blocks (had some stuff that was packed around computer) helped on curved surfaces.
