Yes, brake lites do lite when jumper in place. When I bought the switch ,there were ones for cruise , with or without , I bought the basic one ,I don't have cruise.

Using the jumper, there is power to both wires going to the brake lite switch.What I did notice was the sleeve through the hole in the bracket that the brake lite switch screws into seems loose to me...
