Primer choice

My car has been stripped to the bare metal and my body man has recomended that I use lacquer primer. Will this be OK in the long run or is there another way I should go?

Reusing the 1/4 is out. So the inner and outer wheel housing can be removed and repaired without messing with the 1/4?

I am new to body work and am teaching myself with this project.

1/4 Panels

I need to replace the passenger inner and outer wheelhousing on a 1970 lemans but my 1/4 panel is in very good condition. I know the 1/4 will have to come off in order to do the wheelhouse repair....
