The following are for the GTO series from the Factory.

1964 Tri-Power,
Manual shift and Automatic came with Vacuum linkage.

1965 Tri-Power,
Manual shift - Mechanical linkage. 19091 built....

Factory red oxide primer that someone was prepping for a color.

Obviously the semi gloss Black was applied first.

I had the exact opposite problem.

In my ‘65 GTO when opening “only” the RH door the dome / console light would not come on.
I fussed with this issue for days until I realized the door jam switch...
