Thanks for the reply I thought if you disconnect the battery while running and it quit then there is a problem with the charging system. Not right? And the alternator is brand new

66 gto charging issues

Hi all, i recently had a dead battery so went through the obvious fixes. Car wouldnt run when taking off the neg. cable from battery.
Replaced alternator with a powermaster 60 amp i believe.

Thanks that was very informative..so your saying to cut the carpet out where the console lays with about an 1” overlap. Then remove the padding back to the edge of the console t’hen tighten it down....

Weak rear brakes after disk conversion

Did a front disk conversion manual with manual drums in the rear. Front brakes fine lock up on panic stops. Rears do not, Any ideas.

15 months later..... Back on the road

Those are great looking cars. Ive only seen 4 gtos go through so far and 3 of those were judges, I guess once you get one you never sell it. Tired of the retread corvettes.

Good eye on the links, i havent had a chance to tighten up yet, it seems every new piece i put on im hesitant to do so until im sure there right. Guess i wont know everything until i get to drive it.

I just checked my chassis manual and it looks...

I just checked my chassis manual and it looks like the lower nuts are on a retaining clip. Do i need to get these or is there a trick to getting a wrench on the top side in the spring cavity. Thnks
